Painting both in oils and watercolours, Joseph Farquharson captured landscapes mostly in Scotland and often including animals. Famed for his snowy depictions of winter scenes, usually at dawn or dusk, his work is instantly recognisable. Here, he paints a flock of sheep being herded home at dusk. The ivory sheep are contrasted against the pale white snow and the golden glow of the winter sky. Immerse yourself in this frosty scene with countryside-themed and sheep-shaped pieces.
